I am currently taking Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Chick Preorders.
For Fall 2024 both sizes of my Rainbow Boxes are available for preorder for local pickup only. I ship nationwide in the Spring. I highly recommend getting your preorders for next season in early especially if you'd like any of my sexable at hatch varieties as they sell out long before Spring arrives.
Shipping is available and is weather/location dependent. Unlike most breeders I have a live arrival assurance. See more info below for shipping prices. You may preorder from the list above and below. My varieties are also listed again by egg color with more specifics below.

Please note that only certain breeds here are sexable at hatch. If the variety doesn't have separate Female/Male pricing and listing under sexed female pullets above, then they are sold unsexed/straight run and statistically there is a 50:50 chance of each chick being either gender over a large number of chicks. if ordering straight run, I don't know the genders of those varieties at hatch so I cannot guarantee which genders you will get of each with unsexed chicks. About straight run everywhere; over small quantities most straight run orders will be half females and half males, however some orders may be mostly females and some may be mostly males. No breeder has control over that. That's the lottery that is straight run chicks no matter where you order from. Just as those who get more than half females aren't sending extra money back in retrospect, you shouldn't expect the business to give you any sort of refund if you get more than half males. If you want only females, then order sexed female chicks. Period.

You will receive 15 Chicks of any of my large fowl breeds as well as the possibility of colorful laying project breed chicks. I will NOT add any known sex-able male chicks. On shipping day, I will send you your tracking number after they are on their way so that you can track their progress as well. I have a live arrival guarantee for shipped chicks. I only ship chicks via USPS Express. Losses are EXTREMELY rare, but have happened. Your chicks must be picked up from the post office within 2 hours of their arrival to receive a refund for a lost chick. You must send me a photo of the lost chick in the shipping box as proof for a refund. This is non-negotiable.

I am currently taking orders for Spring Chick Preorders. Spring 2024 preorders are officially open.
The only way to ensure you get the breeds/varieties from me that you’d like is to pre-order as I no longer hatch for general sales. I only hatch for pre-orders, not general availability. I do typically have some extra overflow at the end of the season of some breeds and a few here and there thru the season. If a breed is marked closed, it may reopen as the season goes on, so feel free to check back. Expect some varieties will sell out before Spring arrives. I will update the list when that happens, so the list will change as time goes by.

Please send me your chick list via text/phone or Facebook at The Zen Hen and The Honey Bee. Please include your PayPal email address so I can get you your invoice to pay to reserve you littles. If you require shipping, I'll need your full address and Phone number. I only ship chicks via USPS Express. Please, wait until you are ready to pay to request an invoice. Invoices will be canceled after 48 hours if they are not paid. There is a 25% cancelation fee for all chick and egg orders placed and then later cancelled by the customer. After receiving your order, I will send you a message that you invoice has been sent and is available on Paypal. Shipping is available within the continental U.S. as well as to Puerto Rico. I only ship express and have a live arrival guarantee. When I know your hatch week is getting close, I will message you to keep you updated so you can prepare for their arrival. If yours are being shipped, I’ll message with your shipping day and arrival day. On shipping day, I will send you your tracking number after they are on their way so that you can track their progress. I have a live arrival guarantee for shipped chicks. Your chicks must be picked up from the post office within 2 hours for this to be valid. I also must receive a photo of any DOA chicks in the original shipping box. Shipped chicks will be 1-2 days old at time of shipping. Please don’t request that you pick up your chicks at a later age. I do not have the space, time or desire to grow chicks for customers. I do occasionally have some older birds that I will post, but I am not able to take preorders for them. *Note: Pullet does NOT mean “older chick” or “adolescent”. A Pullet is any female chick from day old up until one year old. After 1 year, female chickens are called hens. Same with cockerel and Cock/Rooster. If you need shipping, please send me your full address and the phone you'd like the post office to call upon your chicks arrival. I am not allowed to take birds back onto my after they leave for any reason per my NPIP license. I must maintain my license so that I am allowed to ship birds out of the state of Florida. My birds are disease tested every 6 months by the Florida Department of Agriculture and I am Pullorium/Avian Influenza tested clean.

I take great care in my fertile egg shipping methods. I ship in foam shippers with lots of padding. my shippers have been specially designed for the shipping boxes I use. I receive EGG-cellent feedback on my shipped eggs and hatch rates!
Keep in mind before ordering that I cannot control the gentleness post office shipping nor the hatching experience/incubators of others. I do not in any way guarantee hatch rates. Hatching eggs do not come with the expectation of replacement or refunds for unhatched eggs.

Rainbow Dozens may contain any arrangement of my colorful laying breeds. I'll add the most beautiful eggs available each week! Possible varieties in your dozen may include: BBS Copper Marans, Several Types of Olive Eggers, Welsummers and Legbars. The assortment will change a bit week to week.
Green With Envy Dozens will hatch an arrangement of Olive Eggers/Green Laying Varieties.
Some of my varieties and Olive Eggers are hybrids. This means that the offspring that hatch from those eggs will lay a different color than the egg they came from. I pair them purposefully to get better and better egg color with each generation!

*Prices are per dozen. I can ship up to 4 dozen eggs per box. I also sell partial dozens but shipping is a flat rate as most of my cost is in shipping supplies. Shipping is $65 for 1 egg up to 48 eggs USPS Priority. Ask for Express Shipping quote if you like to upgrade to that option.
Again, I do not guarantee hatch rates for purchased eggs. I often receive excellent feed back about hatch rates and my packing method. That being said, know that shipped eggs are a gamble and refunds or replacements should not be expected as I have zero control over the hatching methods of others or post office handling. I only sell eggs from pens I am currently hatching and have excellent fertility.
